About

Built for the person Googling "can I afford to quit" at 11pm.

3.2 million people quit their jobs every month. Most of them winged the math. This calculator exists so you don't have to.

Why this exists

Every quit calculator out there is either too dumb ("multiply your rent by 6, you're good") or buried inside some financial advisor's lead-gen funnel. And none of them — not one — included COBRA. That's $812/month you lose the second you walk out the door.

This one does. It also accounts for self-employment tax if you're going freelance, the difference between liquid savings and your total net worth, and what your actual monthly burn is. Not the number you tell yourself.

Everything runs in your browser. No account. No email. No one on the other end selling you something.

Where the numbers come from

Bureau of Labor Statistics, Kaiser Family Foundation, Federal Reserve, IRS. Public data. Verifiable. Every blog post cites its source inline. If we got something wrong, tell us.

This is a calculator, not financial advice. Talk to an actual financial advisor before you do anything big.
